Ray was nominated by Jean Willis, the assistant controller at Van's Lumber and a five year employee, who said you can tell that Ray really cares about his employees.

Van's Lumber is celebrating their 55th anniversary this year, and Willis said the company has a family atmosphere, not only because Ray's kids are also in the business and they all come together at certain times.

Audio/VideoWillis said 30% of the company employees have been working there for over 15 years, and that there are even a few crews of fathers and sons that go out on jobs, and everyone stands behind the work.
