WillisDr. David Willis is an Ordained Minister with the Assemblies of God.He has a Bachelors of Science in Recreation and Parks from Pennsylvania State University; a Masters of Divinity with a concentration in Pastoral Ministry from The Assemblies of God Theological Seminary; and his Doctorate in Ministry from Fuller Theological Seminary.David has served as the Chi Alpha Pastor at Pennsylvania State University and as the Church Leadership and Youth Ministry Director at Bethany College of the Assemblies of God.His life mission is to call a generation to their destiny by training and equipping them to minister in the power and the anointing of the Holy Spirit.David is a gifted communicator who clearly articulates the gospel of Jesus Christ in a positive and energetic fashion.David loves to blend his Christian faith with education.He brings with him over 20 years of pastoral ministry experience.

  David and his wife Tammy were both raised right here in Newport News.David graduated from Ferguson high school and Tammy from Menchville.Tammy was a nurse, but nowadays works full time with their family.They have three children: Bethany (9), Delaney (6) and Preston (4).David graduated from Roanoke Bible College as well as Christopher Newport University.He became a part of the staff and ministry at Olivet in October 2004.His previous ministries include 3 years with Seaford Church of Christ and 10 years in a new church work, Christ's Church of the Peninsula.During his years at Christ's church, David worked for Newport News Catalog and Hampton Roads Radio Group.Christ's Church merged with Olivet in October of 2004 creating a new and growing congregation.David likes sports, music, working out and he really enjoys a challenging book too, but he is most passionate about preaching and teaching from God's word.

  David Willis, a graduate of Fort Mill High, recently completed his freshman year at Eastern Kentucky University by finishing fourth in the 1,500- meters at the Ohio Valley Conference Outdoor Championship held in Cape Girardeau, MO. Other highlights of the outdoor season included winning the 1,500-meters and finishing second in the 800-meters at the University of the Cumberlands meet.He posted a season best time of 4:00.28 in the 1,500-meters during a meet in Cincinnati.He was recently named to the Dean's List and was also named as a Colonel Scholar.
