Barbara Willis has been a longtime member and participant with Summit.In the past year she was elected the President of Missoula Valley People First Chapter.As the first person in western Montana to use a Section 8 voucher to purchase a home, she has helped pave the way for other people who have been waiting to purchase a home with their voucher."My hope is that I make it easier for other people to use their vouchers."She is proud of her home and loves the roll in shower and feels happy that she has a place she can call her own, though it has been a long process to finally get to be a homeowner.

Barbara has had a tremendous support system, Nancy Maxson and Marsha Katz from the Rural Institute, Bob Liston from Montana Fair Housing, Michael O' Neal from A.W.A.R.E are just a few of the individuals that have helped her accomplish her home ownership goal.

Barbara has already had a People First meeting held at her house where they celebrated her accomplishment.She hopes that her positive experience makes it easier for others purchasing homes using that method.Barbara is truly a trailblazer.
