Anne Willis, owner/broker of Swede's moved to the Bolivar Peninsula in 1961 and graduated from High Island High School. She began her career in real estate in 1985 and purchased Swede's in 1995.
Anne says, "We manage over 275 rental properties and book almost every one of them for the summer season by February every year and our average rental rate is equal to or even higher than Galveston Island.

Anne Willis, Bolivar Peninsula Chamber of Commerce president, said that as gas prices go up, people come to the peninsula.
"I've always found that higher gas prices always helped us down here," Willis said.
Willis said most of the peninsula-goers come from around Southeast Texas.
