"Some local artists have found a creative way to incorporate pine beetle wood into their art," said Angela Willis, arts coordinator for the Community Arts Council of Prince George.

For Willis, it is both her job and her pleasure to offer local artisans an opportunity to display their work.

"The artists have been busy making everything from benches to bowls to bookmarks from the blue streaked wood.The resulting work is very distinctive and is proving popular with out of town visitors and locals looking for a unique gift from Prince George," she said.

"We're very, very happy with this year's event," said Community Arts Council of Prince George arts coordinator Angela Willis.

Community Arts Council of Prince George arts coordinator Angela Willis said the doors at Studio 2880 Arts Complex are always open for new members, new ideas and new artists.The gift shop is always full of new surprises."Our gift shop has been at this location for three years.The arts council likes to support our local artisans by giving them an opportunity and a place to display and sell their artwork," said Willis.

New members are always welcome to come and show their work, Willis said.
