BEDFORD, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 10, 2007--Spire Corporation (Nasdaq: SPIR) announced today that it has expanded its marketing force with the addition of Mark C. Willingham as Marketing Vice President.Mr. Willingham is responsible for Spire's solar strategic marketing efforts and to build on the strength of Spire's technology platform.
Mr. Willingham brings over 15 years of leadership and experience in marketing, sales and business development in complex environments.He holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and a Masters in Business Administration from Boston College.Prior to joining Spire, Mr. Willingham was Vice President and Partner at Hudson Lock LLC where he turned sales activity around from a five-year decline to a 20% growth rate in 18 months and the company was returned to a profitable operation in eight months.In addition, he lead the Sales and Marketing effort at ADE Technologies as Director of Sales & Marketing dealing with emerging technologies in the Semiconductor and Data Storage markets.He was responsible for strategic vision and sales execution, growing market share during difficult industry conditions.Prior to his career in industry, Mr. Willingham was an Officer in the U.S. Navy and Gulf War veteran.
