Elizabeth Willingham has worked in professional publishing ever since she had to start doing something professional. After a summer at the Radcliff Publishing Course , she moved from a legal publisher to the medical division of Little , Brown , having discovered that books with gross pictures were better than books with no pictures at all. After her years as medical book production editor , she partnered with Thane Kerner to form the editorial half of Silverchair Science + Communications in 1993.As vice president , she has developed a sophisticated editorial team that manages the production of books , Websites , and PDA products on behalf of major medical publishers. Her experience with medical content , the authors who create it , and the readers who use it informs her focus on developing technical functionality that best delivers the information--in particular , the application of SGML-based metadata that allows the delivery of search results that generate the user comment , That's just what I was looking for..
