Chauncey Willingham

Coach Willingham will hold a team meeting with athletes today and is scheduled to meet with their parents on Thursday.

Of the 31 years Willingham has been with CISD, 15 of those years were spent associated with the Dragon basketball program.In 13 of those 15 seasons, Willingham posted 20 or more wins.He served in the past as a head coach of the girls' basketball program before becoming an assistant coach for the boys' program.He was an assistant with the Dragons when they won the University Interscholastic League 3A Boys' Basketball State Championship.As a head coach for ten years, Willingham was named Coach of the Year seven times.He spent his last four years in the basketball program leading the Lady Dragons again as head coach, posting a combined total record of 111 victories and 11 defeats.

A graduate of North Texas State University, Willingham has served CISD as a teacher, coach and administrator, including positions as assistant football coach, head tennis coach and head cross country coach.He became an assistant principal for CISD in 1999.
