Ryan WillingRyan graduated from Mechanical Engineering at Queen's University in May 2005, filling his fourth year of Undergrad with classes in bio-engineering, bio-mechanical design, stress / strain analysis and manufacturing methods.Ryan and his MECH 460 / 462 group-mates were awarded the L.M. Arkley prize for the best paper, supported by an oral presentation, on their Active Noise Suppression device.

Ryan spent his first 2 summer vacations working as a machinist in the Research and Business Development building at Dupont's Kingston site.During those summers, he learned the importance of designing parts for manufacturability and maintenance, as well as gaining first hand experience with various manufacturing methods.

During his Master's, Ryan will be applying the tools of Multi-Disciplinary Optimization to Bio-Mechanical design.Ryan's first project will be the optimization of an artificial knee, where Ryan's experiences with CAD software, in the machine shop, and in bio-mechanical design will be of great help.

Outside of school, Ryan likes boating, camping, Seadooing, skiing, snowboarding, skating, music, movies, and going out on the town.
