    Dr. Williger accomplished his Bachelor degree in life sciences in Bar-Ilan University during which he was awarded by the Knesset of Israel (the Israeli Parliament) for excellent achievements in studies.After moving to the Weizmann Institute of Science Dr. Williger gained his Masters in the Department of Chemical Immunology.He conducted his doctorate studies under the supervision of Prof. M. Liscovitch, concentrating on the biological role of phosphatidic acid in healthy and cancer cells.Upon accomplishment of his Ph.D. studies Dr. Williger started a three year research period in the laboratory of Prof. J.H. Exton (Dept. of Molecular Physiology and Biophysics, School of Medicine, Vanderbilt University) further focusing on the cellular role of phospholipase D and phosphatidic acid in normal and malignant biological processes, mainly cancer spread.
