Mr. Willig was admitted to the Bar of Paris after having passed the Bar Exam in French law.He was thereafter accredited by the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs and is the avocat accrédité of the Consulate General of France in Miami.Mr. Willig received his Bachelor's degree in French Language and Literature from the University of South Florida, and was thereafter admitted to the Ecole Superieure de Commerce de Paris.While in Paris, he also studied Japanese, Korean and Indonesian at the National Institute for Oriental Languages and Civilizations, and completed two certificates (brevets) in legal translation, in English (mention assez bien) and Spanish (mention bien), at the Institute of Comparative Law, a part of the University of Paris II.While enrolled at the University of Miami School of Law, Mr. Willig was engaged as a law clerk during the summers at the firm of Fuji & Toda in Tokyo, Japan.Following his membership in the Florida Bar (1988) and the Bar of Washington, D.C. (1990), he established his own practice based in Miami.In 1995, he sat for the French bar exam, and was sworn in to the Bar of Paris in January 1997.In addition to his practice in commercial and civil law and litigation, including immigration, intellectual property, and international business law, since 1999, he also practices as a Florida Civil-Notary, also known as a Florida International Notary, and has offered expertise in foreign law and related matters, either by affidavit or live testimony, in courts and proceedings in Florida, France, England, Brazil and Colombia.Mr. Willig speaks English, French, Japanese, Korean, Indonesian and Spanish.
