"It was a total team effort from beginning to end," Farmville Central coach Larry Williford said."We've been saying all along that we've got four guys who can score. If they were on other teams, they'd be their leading scorer. We've got four different weapons on offense. When we play together and do what we need to do on defense, we're a pretty good basketball team."

Williford was called for a technical foul for arguing with the referees about the clutching and grabbing that was going on.Moments after North Johnston's Trap Parker sank two free throws for the technical called on Williford, Pickett was called for a technical foul, sending Parker back to the free throw line.

"They know I've got their back 100 percent," Williford said."I told them at halftime I was here for 12 reasons and those were the 12 reasons.I'm not going to change the way I coach.I'm fiery, I've got a lot of emotion. It's one of those things where I got one early and they responded. You've got to give those guys credit for doing that."
...
"It's something that we've started since the beginning of the year, working on our fastbreak, running our lanes and knowing where we are in certain situations in those lanes," Williford said."It's just constant repetition in practice, doing a lot of fastbreak drills. You've got to have talent to do those things and fortunately we've got guys who can go out and run."
...
"It's our biggest motivation," Williford said."I don't really think anyone believes that we were the conference champions. It's a good time for us to go out and prove we're not paper champions. We want another trophy. Our goal was to win the conference, now our goal is to win the conference tournament.Right now we're on course to do that and it's a credit to these guys working hard every day in practice."
