MIDLAND - The learning curve isn't so steep for Kristi Williford when it comes to adapting to her role as principal of Bethel Elementary.She received a promotion after serving a year at Bethel as assistant principal of instruction.Williford, 34, is a 12-year school veteran, having served as an assistant principal at Mount Pleasant Elementary and as principal intern at W.M. Irvin in Concord.She's also taught at Mount Pleasant High.She took time Tuesday after school to answer questions about her new role, but prefaced the interview by saying that Bethel's success is dependent upon students, parents and school staff working together as a team.Answers have been edited for space and clarity.
