John H. Williford
John H. Williford is President of Global Supply Chain Solutions for Ryder System, Inc., a Fortune 500 global transportation and supply chain management solutions company.In this position, he is responsible for management, operations, sales and marketing, and financial performance of Ryder's Supply Chain Solutions business segment, globally.Mr. Williford is a member of Ryder's Executive Leadership Team.
Mr. Williford joins Ryder from Golden Gate Logistics LLC in Palo Alto, California, where he served as President, Chief Executive Officer and Founder.Before forming Golden Gate Logistics, Mr. Williford was the Founder, President and Chief Executive Officer of both Menlo Worldwide and Menlo Logistics.Menlo Worldwide was an integrated global forwarding and logistics provider with $3 billion in annual revenues, 12,000 employees and operations in more than 100 countries.The business included Menlo Forwarding (formerly Emery Worldwide), Menlo Logistics and Vector SCM (a joint venture with General Motors to manage their $5 billion in annual logistics expense).
Mr. Williford is an accomplished 25-year industry veteran.He joined Consolidated Freightways - CNF in 1981, progressing through the ranks, ultimately becoming President and Chief Executive Officer of the company's supply chain business, Menlo Worldwide, Inc.Menlo was created in 1990, when Mr. Williford, then serving as CNF's Director of Marketing, proposed the creation of a separate business unit within CNF to capitalize on opportunities in the growing field of outsourced logistics.
Mr. Williford earned an MBA from the University of California, Berkeley and a bachelor of arts degree in Economics from Hamilton College in New York.
