John Robert Williford

John Robert Williford, 90, went home to be with his Lord on July 28, 2002.He was born in Aulander, N.C.He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 59 years, Pearl Parrish Williford; and his parents, Virgie and Joseph R.; his sister, Virginia W. Bruner; and two brothers, Ralph and Julian H. Williford.He is survived by his son, John David; his daughter, Virginia (Rene) Hamm and her husband, Will; grandchildren, Adrienne Acra Passehl and husband, Thomas and Robert S. Acra; his brother, William A. Williford and wife, Mary; and sister-in-law, F. Evelyn Williford, all of Richmond; and brother, Edgar K. Williford and wife, Laura Lee of Greensville, S.C.He attended U.N.C. and graduated with a degree in English.He was an accountant with Graybar Electric Co. for 35 years.He was a member of Grove Avenue Baptist Church for over 60 years.He served as a deacon, church treasurer, bookkeeper of Christian school, head of training Union, and Sunday school superintendent.
