C. Buren Williford

C. Buren Williford of Southern Piping Company, has been appointed to a position on the N.C. State Building Commission.

Williford received his appointment from the Jim Black, Speaker of the N.C. House of Representatives.His term lasts three years.

The state commission develops procedures to direct and guide the state capital facilities development and management program.

Responsibilities include approval of design teams for state projects as well as proposals from state and local governments for exemptions from public bidding laws.

Williford created Southern Piping in 1965.He served as the company's president until 2001.He now serves as chairman of the company's board of directors.
