Burt R. Willie, Associate, joined the firm on August 13, 2007.Burt was raised in rural Idaho where he learned the responsibility of hard work at a young age.Burt has traveled Idaho working with a crew of cement laborers repairing state freeways.Burt is excited to begin his practice of law and we are excited to have Burt join this firm.

Burt R. Willie practices in the areas of construction, insurance, and civil litigation.

Raised in Malad City, Idaho, Burt learned about the responsibility of hard work at a young age by raising cattle, managing irrigation, and operating harvesting machinery on his family's farm.Following high school, Burt entered the NROTC scholarship program as a Reserve in the Marine Corps.During a break in his college studies, Burt traveled as a church volunteer to teach religion and English in Portugal and West Africa for two years.He also traveled much of Idaho as a young man working among a crew of cement laborers repairing miles of state freeways."This was the foundation," Burt says, "for my knowledge in the construction and management process, cement work, and the various techniques used in the construction process."

After receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences from Utah State University in 2003, Burt Willie earned his Juris Doctorate in 2007 from the University of Idaho College of Law where he served as Technical Editor for the Idaho Law Review.During his tenure as Technical Editor, his student article, "Kennewick Man , Mission Accomplished?"was selected for publication.During law school, Burt gained experience working as a judicial extern for United States Magistrate Judge Mikel Williams.

Burt also participated in the College of Law Small Business Clinic providing free legal services to Idaho entrepreneurs and assisting them organize various legal entities.

Joining the firm following graduation in August 2007, Burt says, "I had the opportunity to work with some of the TJGF attorneys while externing for Judge Williams and was very impressed by their advocacy.

Burt is admitted to practice in all courts of the State of Idaho and the United States District Courts of Idaho.

In his time away from the law, Burt enjoys the outdoors and spending time with his wife, Nancy and his two young daughters, Isabella and Sophie.Burt is also fluent in Portuguese and the African Creole language.
