    Bob is a native of New York and began his career as assistant director to "Tony" award winning producer/directors Joe Layton and Porter Van Zant.He received his B.S. at East Carolina University where he was the recipient of the Chancellor's Award scholarship for excellence in theatre performance.He continued his training in the M.F.A. acting/directing program at the University of Louisville and at H.B. Studios in New York under the tutelage of Uta Hagen and Charles Nelson Reilly.As an actor, Bob has over sixty professional credits ranging from Shakespeare to musical comedy.

    Bob spent several seasons as Managing Director of the Professional Theatre Workshop working with such notable theatre dignitaries as Helen Hayes, Colleen Dewhurst, Linda Lavin, Geoffrey Holder and Sheila Humphries of the Royal Ballet.He has also served as the Associate Operations Manager at the Juilliard School working with the New York Philharmonic, School of American Ballet, American Opera Center and the Juilliard Dance Ensemble.

    Since arriving in Chattanooga, in 1987, Bob has helped to guide Chattanooga Ballet to new levels of artistic and professional development.The school and company have become one of the most respected dance organizations in our state.His dedication to the production of new works has resulted in 27 world premiere works by American choreographers, three of which were performed at the Avignon Festival in France.His greatest source of pride is the formation of Poss-itive Dance, an outreach program for inner-city children that is jointly presented by Girls Incorporated and Chattanooga Ballet.

    Bob was a nominee for the Tennessee Arts Commission's Gordon Holl Award for encouraging excellence, diversity and vitality in the arts and has served as a panelist for the T.A.C. Arts Access and Appreciation grants.He is currently the President of the Tennessee Association of Dance and has served as the actor representative to the Southeastern Theatre Conference.

    Last night as part of my Arts Leadership Class, I went to the Chattanooga Theatre Centre (an amazing facility) and heard a speech by Jack Murrah, President of the Lyndhurst Foundation and a panel discussion by Jeffery Brown, Theatre Centre Producing Director, Robert Kret, Hunter Muesum of American Art Director, Bob Willie, Executive Director of the Chattanooga Ballet, George Parker, Tivoli Theatre Director of Marketing and Promotions, and Dennis Palmer, Artistic Director of the Shaking Ray Levi Society.
