Willich was born June 14, 1909, in Horton, to Anna Katharina (Kreuzburg) and Wilhelm Heindrick Franz Willich.

Willich served on the Flint Hills School Board for several years.He was also elected to the Elk County Dairy Association and served with the Elk County Fair Board and the 4-H.He worked for the Elk County Assessor for several years and was an Elk County commissioner from 1961 to 1964.A member of the Howard United Methodist Church, he was active in the choir.

His wife died Dec. 3, 1995.
