Five fire departments responded to the fire, but they had no chance of saving the house by the time they arrived, said Chief Johnny Williard of the Courtney Volunteer Fire Department.

"Nobody's hurt.That's the best thing," Williard said."You can replace a building.You can't replace a life."

Six people, including a 5-year-old and a 7-year-old, lived in the two-story house.
