Roane County High School Band Director, Zack Williamson, was also interviewed on a recent edition of Channel 12 News and discussed the band program.

The 5th grade teachers at KES teach the 4 R's; Reading, 'Riting, 'Rithemetic, and Responsibility. some of the activities our 5th graders are involved in include: DARE, 4-H, Jumping Jackets, introduction to Band with High School band director, Zack Williamson, and peer tutoring sponsored by the University of Tennessee.

One of our main goals is to prepare our students for the transition to Cherokee Middle School by being responsible and becoming independent life long learners.

The 5th grade teachers have a combined total of 87 years teaching experience.With this amount of experience, you can be assured your child is in capable hands.

1997 - Conductor, Zack Williamson - Roane County High School

Zack Williamson has served as director/conductor of the Roane County High School band since 1988.Prior to assuming duties at RCHS, he served as band director at Greenback High School for two years and at Lewis County High School for one year.

Mr. Williamson received his Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and his Master of Education degree from Lincoln Memorial University.He was awarded his Specialist in Education degree from Tennessee Technological University.

Mr. Williamson has served on the Board of Directors for the East Tennessee School Band and Orchestra Association and is currently past-president of the Tennessee Secondary School Band Directors' Association.

Mr. Williamson holds membership in Tennessee Education Association, National Education Association, the Tennessee Music Educators' Association, and the Nation Band Directors' Association.He is a member of Phi Beta Mu, and the nation bandmasters' fraternity.For over 15 years he has served his country as an active member of the 572nd Air Force Band (Tennessee Air National Guard), and has served nurmerious times as an adjudicator and clinician at various events in Tennessee.

He lives in Kingston with his wife, Mary, and their children, Abbie, Lauren and Nathan.
