    It was designed by Thomas W. Williamson, the same architect for Topeka High School, and since its closing in 1995 has served as the Topeka-Shawnee County Public Library's temporary storage facility while the library underwent renovation.

    The City is currently seeking tenants interested in utilizing all or a portion of the School.Possible uses include office space for community-based organizations and cultural activity space involving all ages that will be set within a neighborhood park.Officials also strongly seek neighborhood stakeholders to assist in reviewing proposal responses.
