he Houston Contractors Association celebrated the beginning of its 49th year as an association with a new President, Terry Williamson, Executive Vice President of Texas-Sterling Construction LP.Mr. Williamson along with four new Board Members were sworn into office at the annual HCA Christmas Dinner & Dance on December 3rd."I look forward to the challenges of this position."Stated Mr. Williamson "I would like to see HCA give back more to the community, and to that end I have already spoken to Mayor White about bringing back the HCA Community Clean-up program."During the early Lanier years, the City of Houston and HCA had a cooperative program where HCA would remove abandoned or dangerous homes as designated by the City.Mr. Williamson stated that he believes this is a worthy project that needs to be re-visited.Mr. Williamson also took a moment to congratulate the other incoming Board Members on their election and thanked the out-going members for their dedication and service over the past two years.

HCA would also like to recognize the outstanding job done by this year's president, Terry Williamson.Terry has, under his watch, re-instated Contractor's Demolition Day with the City of Houston.This program, which had been dormant since the Lanier days, removes dangerous and condemned buildings from Houston streets and improves the safety and living conditions in those neighborhoods.Terry has also worked diligently to improve the relationship with the City of Houston's Department of Public Works, and while there is still work to be done in that arena, the lines of communication are much improved.Congratulations to Terry Williamson on a successful year.

HCA President, Terry Williamson introduced each of the new Chairpersons who in turn, named their committee members and gave the attending audience a brief overview of the issues they planned on addressing in their respective committees."This will be an exciting and active year for HCA that will see the committees addressing several important issues on behalf of our membership."stated Terry Williamson, President of HCA.

At the press conference attended by Mayor Bill White and Council Members Toni Lawrence, Carol Mims Galloway, Adrian Garcia and Carol Alvarado the Mayor thanked Terry Williamson, President of HCA for this donation of time and effort to the city and recognized the contracting community for the role we play in keeping the city moving.
