Rev. Williamson has two sons: Todd, 28, who works with the Los Alamos National Laboratories; and Kevin, 20, a third year student at the University of Texas, majoring in Chemistry.The Williamson family enjoys the arts, golf, and tennis.In addition, Rev. Williamson has served in numerous capacities in leadership of the Texas Annual Conference.He has been a member of the Committee on Communications, the Board of Diaconal Ministry, the United Methodist Committee on Relief, the Division of Missions, and the Shalom Zone Task Force.Rev. Williamson was the chair of the Board of Global Ministries from 1988-1992.He continues to work with the mission outreach ministries of the Texas Annual Conference, particularly in the area of medical projects.Since 1978, he has been active in medical mission projects in the international arena.In 1992 he was co-founder of Benevolent Missions International, a foundation that provides eye care in Bolivia, El Salvador, Belize, Fuji and American Samoa.This organization has provided volunteer teams to restore sight to thousands of people worldwide.As Director of Ministerial Services, Rev. Williamson has provided on-going leadership related to health and pension benefits in the Texas Annual Conference.He serves as a member of the Extended Cabinet and the Board of Ordained Ministry.Projects involving his expertise have included the revision of clergy compensation reporting system, the Task Force on Clergy Effectiveness, a new Wellness Program and numerous workshops across the Annual Conference for clergy and laity.
