    While in Johannesburg recently Essa Australia's Engineering Manager Rob Williamson was invited to meet Engineering Council of South Africa CEO Paul Roux and leading Office Bearer Terry Stidworthy.

    Rob Williamson is actively involved with the Institution of Engineers Australia and is a member of the National Council of Associate Engineers, Western Australian Division Committee and Board of Education.

    The Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) is a statutory body established in terms of the Engineering Profession Act.The main focus of the Act is the promotion of public safety, health and interests in relation to actions of persons registered with ECSA.

    The group discussed issues facing engineering in both countries and initiatives including Engineering for Schools programmes.Rob Williamson spoke of his work with robotics and of running robotics classes in schools.He hopes to be able to undertake similar projects in South Africa while he is there in the future.
