Dr. Chris Williamson with the University of Wisconsin-Madison says even if an infestation does show up in the Badger State, there are a number of things to consider before applying pesticide."Pesticide applications to ash trees can be costly and they must be done every year. Also, if the tree is in poor overall health, pesticides may not be effective."He also points out that officials could choose to remove all ash trees in an infested area, so the treatment would go to waste. The UW has established a website for more information on EAB.
