Phillip Ray Williamson
Williamson is an Associate Professor at LaGrange and has served as Athletic Director for the past 33 years.During that time he worked as head basketball coach for seven years, tennis coach for seven years, and as head coach for 13 years of baseball, a program which he started.He led the College to the GIAC basketball conference tournament championship in 1975.He is the recipient of a Community Service Award for the Georgia Games, GAC Basketball Coach of the Year Award in '78 and '96, GACC Special Service Award and GAC Athletic Director of the Year Award.He served as conference president for 13 years, baseball chairman for 12 years and basketball chairman, and is currently baseball supervisor.Williamson is a member of the National Athletic Director's Association, the American Baseball Coaches Association and the Georgia Athletic Directors Association.He also serves on the board of directors for the Salvation Army, is a deacon at First Baptist Church of LaGrange and volunteers for the Georgia Special Olympics.Williamson and his wife, Sonji, have six children.
