Members of the Old Town Homeowners Group, President Marta Williamson and Vice President Mary Spiva, alerted business owners, property owners and renters to the city's plan to bring them into the city by distributing fliers in the area.

On Wednesday, Williamson said the city could be inviting trouble by annexing land where the dumping of what she believes are toxic materials could generate legal problems for Palmdale.
Also, many of those living in the area speak only Spanish, and they should not be annexed without notification or explanation, Williamson said.
