President Schurmeier reported the chapter made $85.00 from the 2004 Summer Conference, and praised Marshall Williamson's efforts that led to the chapter not losing money as it has in the past.

Marshall reported that current conference donations include $2,300.00 in cash, The New Hanover County Sheriff has pledged a $1.000.00 donation, several former police officers have pledged a total of $1,000.00 or more in donations, and area businessman Danny McComas had pledged $500.00.

Marshall expressed his desire to collect enough in donations and vendor fees to cover all conference expenses.
First Vice President Gillikin asked Marshall to discuss the conference activities and Marshall reported there would be a dinner buffet cruise on Monday night that would run $15-25 per person and would include a cash bar.

Marshall reported some ideas for activities include a disk jockey in lieu of a band for post banquet entertainment, a women's shopping trip, a South Port beach trip.Marshall advised the board that he wanted to survey the membership at the Greensboro Business Meeting to solicit ideas for activities.
Marshall discussed designing a banner to list conference sponsors as a way to thank them.He reported 2004 vendors included Best Uniforms, BMW Motorcycles, Integraph Systems, Visioneer, Sig Arms, Eagle Bay Knives, and Laser Shot, who did not show up.He reported these vendors will be invited to participate in the 2006 conference.First Vice President Gillikin advised the board that he would call Al Sutton and Arrington Police Supply about participating in the conference.
Marshall reported during the 2004 summer conference vendors paid $5,750.00 in fees, delegate fees totaled $8,759.00, and there was $6,000.00 in cash donations.Marshall reported that a total of $20,509 was collected.He reported he would continue to work on vendors and he passed out a vendor letter to the board members.
Marshall advised the board that the budget for the President's Reception on Sunday night is set at $3,000.00.He reported the budget for breakfast is $1,800.00 per day based on 150 participants per day.
Marshall reported the conference would be opened by a color guard made up of New Hanover County Sheriff Department and Wilmington Police Department officers.He reported opening ceremony guest speakers will include New Hanover County Sheriff Sid Causey, Wilmington Police Chief Ralph Evangelous, and Carolina Beach Police Chief William Younginer.
Marshall reported he is still working on a beer vendor, and is working on getting the Cheer Wine Soda Company to sign on as a sponsor.
Marshall reported he will have a shirt design sample ready sometime in November.The board discussed the possibility of having a double-side printed shirt, and Marshall reminded the board of the added expense of double-side screen printing.The board also discussed designing a golf type shirt for delegates.Marshall will check on the cost for both types of shirts and report back to the board.
Training Coordinator Senatore express concern over outlaw bikers in the area of the conference hotel.He cited his observation of several outlaw bikers in the boardwalk area near the hotel during a trip to Carolina Beach last summer.He didn't want to panic anyone, but felt delegates should be warned of possible problems.
Training Coordinator Senatore discussed the issue of members not receiving reimbursement for conference fees and expenses and how some agencies have stopped budgeting or giving employees time for conferences.He suggested urging each agency to budget money for at least one (1) conference attendee per year.He discussed other organization's conferences and their attendance.
