Mark Williamson is president of Federal Intercessors, an outreach of Foundation Restoration Ministries based near Houston, Texas.Williamson stays in contact with a number of Christians who serve in the nation's capital.
The ministry leader says God can use a small number of committed believers to rescue the country from its moral downslide, and there is still hope for America if Christians will seek the Lord's face."With all of our faults and all of the things in our history that we've not done well, we still see the hand of God on America," he says.
...
But while many Christian ministers and leaders are talking about the nation being under the judgment of God and already past the point of redemption, Williamson holds out hope."I believe it is already settled: God is going to redeem America. We just have to line up with what He's doing, and do what we're supposed to do, and the outcome is assured," he says.
The intercession advocate says it is no time to stop praying, and he is calling on believers to remember those Christians on Capitol Hill in particular. He says when it comes to spiritual welfare, Capitol Hill is a very strategic place, and more Christians need to get involved.
Williamson points to an important biblical precedent that God revisited often, the fact that God will use believers, even though they be few in number."Throughout scripture you'll see the principle: God will use the remnant even when the masses aren't paying attention," he says.
Beyond that, the president of Federal Intercessors sees the ministry as an opportunity for Christians to become activated, motivated both in their spiritual giftings and their prayer life.
And perhaps even more importantly, he says, "I believe this is an opportunity for the Church in America to become unified, because we have a common enemy called the devil.
