Mr. Margie Griffin Williamson

Mr. Williamson was retired from Whitten Center, a member of Calvary Baptist Church and was among those who built the present church.He was a US Army veteran of World War II during which time he was assigned to the 82nd Airborne Division, 320th Glider Field Artillery Battalion.He was a Purple Heart recipient and participated in the Allied Forces D-Day invasion of Germany occupied territory on the coast of Normandy.
