Margaret Williamson
TUPELO - Margaret McCurley Williamson went to be with her Lord on September 24, 2005, at her home in Tupelo, Mississippi.She was born September 29, 1951, in Jackson, Mississippi, to William Caston McCurley and Elizabeth Smith McCurley.She spent her childhood in Monticello, Mississippi, and Jackson, Mississippi, and graduated cum laude from Belhaven College in 1972 with a degree in English.She married Buddy Williamson in 197 and spent the next nine years in Jackson during her husband's medical training.After moving to Tupelo in 1980 to begin her husband's surgical practice, she was a very active community volunteer serving as chairman of the Charity Ball for Junior Auxiliary and was a member of the Medical Auxiliary.She was the chairman of the Celebration Village for Sanctuary Hospice House and served on the Board of Directors for Sanctuary Hospice House.She served on the Board of Directors of the Tupelo Ballet.She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Tupelo and was actively involved in many aspects of her church.
Above all, she was devoted to her faith and her family.
