Margaret Williamson, executive director of Literacy Volunteers of America-Detroit says a campaign to educate people about the new phone number and the availability of tutors is a first step.

"It was like a dream come true to learn that she will be our spokeswoman," said Margaret Williamson, executive director of Literacy Volunteers of America-Detroit, who saw Torreano speak about literacy earlier this year and wished for just that.
