Prior to moving to Scottsdale, Williamson was a leading independent operator in the oil and gas industry and was involved in the exploration, development, and production of oil and gas in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, and in the mid-continent and Rocky Mountain regions of the United States.While in Canada, Williamson owned a controlling interest in a large Canadian mutual fund group and acquired substantial land holdings in the Calgary metropolitan area.
