After a performance of Harold Pinter's Betrayal Friday , Suitcase artistic director Kevin Williamson apologized to the sell-out crowd for the sound disruptions bleeding in from the nearby Eaton's Menswear venue and announced that the rest of his run would take place at the Site Gallery on the second floor of a building at 55 Arthur St..
You can hear two shows at once , said Williamson , during an interview. The sound pollution is appalling.I'm very disappointed any of the groups have been put in this position.I don't think it's acceptable..
Williamson , who has performed at 11 fringe festivals here , became aware of the problem during his technical rehearsal on Thursday when it sounded to him like there was a cow being slaughtered while he was performing Betrayal , a quiet show in which pauses and silences are integral.
That's what it sounded like , he said.I've performed in Big 9 and there was some difficulties , but there is a limit to what's acceptable..
