A proposal by Texas-based DYNAC has apparently fallen through after the company "overstated its earnings," Kay Williamson, hospital director of community health and public relations, said Monday.
"It doesn't look like they are going to continue with us," she said."We are continuing to look for another company to lease us."
The Texas company had proposed to continue operating the hospital but add a bariatrics surgery specialty.A bariatrics specialist who had planned to operate there has already moved away, Williamson said.

Williamson said Georgia Baptist Healthcare has not announced a deadline to find another company.
"We are continuing to do well," she said."We are on the positive end.I know their ultimate goal is to be a foundation and be out of the hospital business. But we're still here."
The critical access hospital has about 25 hospital beds and a 79-bed attached nursing home, and employs about 250 full-time and part-time workers.Williamson said it has "a $35 million economic impact on the community."
