Williamson was first introduced to golf as a child when his father and namesake, Justin Williamson III, encouraged him to play.

A native and current resident of the St. Louis area, Williamson spent his college years at Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut, where he received a grant to play hockey and baseball, while majoring in political science. He was named Senior Scholar Athlete for his efforts during the 1988 - 1989 season. It was only after his talent in golf was recognized at the end of his college career that he decided to pursue the sport as a profession in 1990.

"Hockey and baseball were my first loves in sports.Trinity College allowed me to pursue both sports where other colleges would have forced me to drop one.The fact that I make a living playing a sport that I didn't discover until later in life and after having played hockey and baseball for so long makes me a bit of an oddity on the PGA tour. However, I cannot imagine my life without golf," said Williamson.

With 278 events played during his PGA career, Williamson has been a staple on the PGA TOUR since 1999.In 2007, Williamson will play the Nationwide PGA TOUR, following a 2006 season in which he played under a Major Medical Extension due to knee surgery.Despite only seven starts, Williamson posted two top-10 finishes on the 2006 Nationwide Tour.

Now 100 percent healthy, Williamson plans to play every event on the 2007 Nationwide Tour.

"I am very excited to have Land Resource support me as I try to accomplish my goal of finishing in the top 25 on the money list this year," he said.

"I think competitive golf is unlike any sport, it is such a mental and a physical competition," said Williamson."I think that certainly the PGA TOUR founders would not have envisioned as many tournaments as there are today, but I think that is a tribute to how popular golf has become in the US and internationally.Throughout its entire 90-year history, I think it is amazing how the PGA TOUR has maintained its integrity. You don't hear many bad things about the players and rarely do you hear anything going wrong with the tournaments; golf is definitely the cleanest sport played professionally."

Williamson recently returned home to St. Louis after living in Orlando, Florida, and is currently a member of the Bellerive Country Club in St. Louis. He and his wife of nearly 10 years, Marnie, are proud parents to three children: Whitney, 7; Justin Thomas "J.T.", 4, and George, 15 months.
