Working with regeneration charity Groundwork, BRETRA chair Judith Williamson raised £153,000 from the Community Chest, Awards for All, The Big Lottery People's Millions grant and various Council grants, to fund a total face-lift for the estate's outdoor areas.
The project has involved the creation of a new play area and complete renovation of existing ones, plus general sprucing up with new furniture, railings, etc, and some re-landscaping.
Besides new play equipment for all ages, each courtyard now has a special Children's Garden, where we will have an inaugural planting as part of the Carnival.
In the autumn, major replanting of all communal areas will further transform the grounds with flowers and shrubs.

Congratulations and thanks go to funders including the Big Lottery, and in particular, BRETRA and their Chair Judith Williamson, without whom it would not have been possible.
