Joseph Williamson Jr. was looking forward to graduation, joining his father's law firm in Belfast, and at the same time, keeping his contact with Bowdoin College as a Corresponding Secretary of the Maine Historical Society.During his final year he began collecting autographs from politicians, dignitaries, writers and notable theatrical people of the day â€" many by personal letter.The signature-filled books he created are now part of the Belfast library's Special Collections.
