Jim Williamson accepted the head boys basketball coaching position and a teaching position on campus at his alma mater , according to South Torrance athletic director Robert Kutsch.

Williamson was the 1993 Daily Breeze Co-Player of the Year, helping the Spartans to an undefeated Pioneer League season, the CIF Division III-AA final and CIF State Division III Southern California Regional final.
He was also a star at Loyola Marymount, leading the team to an 18-11 record in 1995-96, the school's best season since 1988-89, when LMU reached the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament.Williamson was a two-time All-West Coast Conference first-team selection, the 1993-94 WCC Freshman of the Year and an All-WCC Tournament selection in 1997.
His coaching résumé might be most impressive.He has been the head coach at Loyola High since 1999 and led the Cubs to back-to-back CIF Division I-A championships in 2002 and 2003.
