    Orlando, Florida, January 13, 2004 - Jerry Williamson, CEO of Williamson Printing, has been named the Graphic Arts Leaders of the Americas (GALA) North American Award Recipient for 2004 by the Printing Association of Florida, Inc. (PAF)."Jerry Williamson has been selected for this award in recognition of his contribution to the advancement of the graphic arts industry," stated Mike Streibig, president of PAF."This is one of the highest honors that can be bestowed upon a member of our industry.Jerry's leadership, both at Williamson Printing and at PIA and its local affiliates, have earned him this spot among the best of the best."

    Jerry will receive his award before hundreds of industry leaders and guests at the 21st annual GALA Award Banquet and Reception, Friday, January 23rd, 2003 in Miami Beach, Florida, during Graphics of the America (GOA) 2004. (GOA is one of the two largest annual printing, converting, and design trade shows in the Americas, with over 500 exhibitors filling more than a half-million square feet and more than 20,000 domestic and international attendees.)

    GALA Recipients are chosen for their leadership in areas of management, technology, business, and quality, as well as their contributions to the graphic arts industry, their community, and society in general.

    Mr. Williamson received both his undergraduate and law degrees from Southern Methodist University.He started his career as an assistant city attorney for the city of Dallas.During this period, when Jerry's father needed legal advice in the operation of the printing company he had previously purchased, he would turn to Jerry.In 1968, he joined the family's printing firm full-time.With Jerry, and his brother, Jesse, leading, Williamson Printing has grown in the intervening years to be among the 100 largest printing companies in America, and is nationally known for the quality of its work.

    Mr. Williamson has also long been involved with Printing Industries of America ( Web Site Executives Related Articles Google) (PIA) and his local affiliate, Printing Industries of Texas.He was first elected to the Printing Industries of Texas Board of Directors in 1977; he served as President of that same organization in 1987 and 1988.He has served on the PIA Board since 1978 and on its executive committee almost continuously since 1989.In 1996, he was elected Second Vice Chairman of PIA and elected First Chairman the following year.In 1998, he was elected to PIA's highest office, Chairman of the Board.
