JAMIE WILLIAMSON

Jamie Williamson began his career in 1976 as an Engineer Officer Cadet with Scottish Shipmanagement where he sailed, predominately on geared bulk carriers.In 1983, on obtaining his 2nd Engineer certificate, he moved into the Gas Tanker trade as 2nd Engineer with Common Brothers.Thereafter, his experience broadened with product and chemical tankers finally returning to Gas Carriers of George Gibson and Co, which was a founder member and operator within the Unigas pool.During this period working on the ethylene side, he was promoted to Chief Engineer in 1988.He remained with George Gibson and Co until 1991.He remained at sea until 1993 as Chief Engineer.The first step into going ashore was his employment on Chemical and Product Carriers as an "onboard Ship-Manager".This role, as sea going Superintendent, with responsibilities for all onboard technical, operational and safety matters.Prior to joining Hanseatic, he worked with V-Ships Cyprus as Fleet Superintendent responsible for Product, Chemical, Container and Ro-Ro vessels.However, the attraction of managing gas carriers, operating in the Unigas Pool drew him to Hanseatic in 1996.He was promoted to Senior Superintendent in December 1999 and then to Technical Manager in June of 2002, overseeing the operation of a fleet of 22 fully managed Gas carriers.In November 2004 was promoted to Acting Technical Director.
