Helen D. Williamson
COHOES - Helen D. Williamson of Cohoes passed away on June 18, 2003, at her home and is now at peace with her mother, father and grandson, Kevin Derus Hickey, after a courageous two year battle with cancer, with her three devoted daughters at her bedside.

Helen was born in Cohoes on May 7, 1920, and was the daughter of the late Paul and Mary Luchek Derus.

Helen was employed for 35 years at the Watervliet Arsenal as Supervisor of Supply and concurrently worked at Kay Jeweler's in Latham for 20 years.She was later employed with the New York State Department of Workmen's Compensation retiring in 2001.
Helen was a member of the Toastmaster Club, former chairperson of the Watervliet Arsenal's Chapter of the American Red Cross, where she was a dedicated blood donor, she was secretary of the Supervisor's Association of the Watervliet Arsenal, and she was very active in the Cohoes Girl Scouts and the Civil Defense with the Civil Air Patrol.
Helen was a communicant of St. Ambrose Parish in Latham.She enjoyed traveling, golfing and the excitement of novice piloting.
