Back with us for an unprecedented third year, these veteran ambassadors of Leave No Trace Center for Outdoor Ethics extended public outreach to thousands of individuals across the United States in 2002 and 2003 with visits to 46 states while traveling nearly 85,000 miles.Well received throughout their tour, Marcia and Gabe,s passion for teaching and protecting public lands accentuates the virtues of the Subaru Leave No Trace Traveling Trainer Program.

Marcia and Gabe first met while working in a university wellness and health promotion program where their mutual love of the outdoors formed the backdrop of their 1990 marriage and the beginning of a journey toward protecting public lands.

Gabe Williamson

Born and raised in Maine, Gabe,s interest in the outdoor classroom developed while at summer camp where he explored nature, paddled Maine rivers and lakes and hiked the White Mountains of New Hampshire.Upon earning his graduate degree in adult education/leisure studies, he directed municipal and university wellness, education and recreation programs.When not a Traveling Trainer, he serves as adjunct faculty in the Department of Recreation and Leisure Studies at the University of Southern Maine.In addition, Gabe works as a personal trainer and facilitates staff development seminars via his consulting firm Everyone Wins.His leisure pursuits include a blend of active and passive activities ranging from running, hiking, canoeing, cross-country skiing and camping to playing trumpet, reading and cooking.
