  Dr. Williamson, an Associate Clinical Professor of Occupational Therapy, College of Physicians and Surgeons, Columbia University, is well known for his wok to promote the social and emotional development of youing children with disabilities.He is Director of Project Beam, a model training and technical assistance program designed to enhance adaptive behavior and resiliency of young children with disabilities and to support their families
  
  He has also developed a "coping inventory instrument," which has provided infant/family professionals with a model of how to understand and support adaptive coping behavior in young children.
