Miss Dottie Williamson

Dottie Williamson is the director of Multihousing Ministries for South Carolina and is our focus for the month of January.She works with people of all ages, children, teenagers, and adults.These people live in unsafe places full of crime and hate.Miss Williamson helps find safe places for the children, and ministers to their well being as well as their spiritual needs.

Miss Williamson helps churches in the area know how they can help.They give furniture, clothes, toys to the families.Backyard Bible Clubs are held for the children.Fruit baskets are taken to the elderly.Pray that there will be more places to share the love of Jesus, and that children will invite their friends to church.

Only about 4 percent of multihousing residents are involved in local churches, according to Dottie Williamson, SCBC multihousing ministries director.This is a great opportunity to share the Christian faith with many un-churched people, Williamson said.

"Hopefully out of this one-day event, the church can develop an on-going ministry with multihousing residents," Williamson said.

To begin planning for the event, churches should first contact the manager or owner of the selected community to obtain permission to host the activity.Planning the activity or program then follows.

Activity possibilities include Bible studies for adults, children's activities, or block parties.Williamson said anything that gives the church an opportunity to be a Christian witness is appropriate.
