Through her business, Orlando Institute — The Center for Electrolysis, Laser Hair Removal & Skin Care, Windermere resident Doris Williamson has provided electrolysis in Southwest Orlando for 22 years and laser hair removal since 1995.

"Melissa, too, decided that she really loves this profession," said Williamson, who has found it to be a rewarding field.
...
Williamson began practicing electrolysis in 1982 because, she said, "I was a single mom, and I needed to find work that gave me enough time to devote to my children as well."
At the time she was trained at the Kree Institute of Electrolysis in New York, electrologists were required to complete 120 hours of training. In 1987, she established a licensed training facility that enrolls a maximum of 10 students in a rigorous 320-hour electrolysis-education program.
"The standard of education was very limited.I felt I was fulfilling a need for better education," said Williamson, who is a registered electrologist and certified clinical electrologist.
Although both may be going on simultaneously, the practice and school are operated as two separate entities.
