Subject: 2006 Poster presentation award Mr. Kavanaugh and Mr. Williamson have been selected to receive a 2006 Poster Presentation Award as co-authors of "Environmental Impacts of Surface Water Heat Pump Systems."

Derek Williamson, an environmental engineer at the University of Alabama, is using an airplane to collect data on carbon dioxide and water vapor changes in the lower atmosphere.Williamson's data will be compared to the same information gathered from the six towers.

While the towers supply information about a fixed point, plane measurements can provide information from a larger area, said Williamson, who is coordinating the different groups in the project.

"We're taking real, honest-to-goodness measurements," Williamson said.
