Word of Mouth - To Be Released August 2002We met Derek when he was a member of Calasaig.Since we recorded his debut album he has gone back to school in Donegal.He had the opportunity to become a student at the College For Traditional Artists in Falcarragh and he jumped at it. (I visited with him there in May 2002 and met some very interesting people indeed.) This is a man that has sung all his life but until August 2001 had never been given the chance to record.Derek has chosen many of the songs that have defined him as an artist and we are glad of that since some are quite rare.He is famous on the Scottish folk circuit for his \"Star of the Bar\" song but we really like \"The death of Queen Jane\".
