ACT, Williamson are honored by chamber

Dennis Williamson received the John W. Galbreath award.
Business of the Year and John W. Galbreath awards were presented last Thursday at the Hilliard Area Chamber of Commerce's annual meeting.
Association, Convention and Trade Shows, Inc. (ACT) was recipient of the former and Dennis P. Williamson of the latter.

Williamson, winner of the Galbreath award, was introduced by chamber vice president Dave Kinnard.

Williamson graduated in 1975 from Cincinnati Princeton High School, in 1979 from the Ohio State University with a degree in accounting and 1982 from OSU with a master's in business administration.
"Dennis is one smart guy," Kinnard said.

Williamson opened his own accounting office in Old Hilliard in 1991, providing accounting, auditing and tax services for small business and nonprofit organizations.
In 1985 he became president of the North Columbus chapter of the Jaycees and he founded the Hilliard Jaycees in 1990, serving as chapter president from 1993-95.
Williamson served on the Old Hilliard Commission from 1997 to 2001, and as treasurer for the Hollyfest Foundation board of directors from 1999 to 2001.He was a founding member of the Hilliard Civic Association, serving as its president since 2001.He was chairman of the Old Hilliard Street Fair organizing committee.
